Chinese New Year - February 2005
Never did I imagine how packed Chinatown would be in celebration of the Chinese New Year in London. The Chinese community itself is really small, but people from all backgrounds came down to the West End to bring in the New Year. Streets in Chinatown were crammed beyond belief. People were pushing around to catch a glimpse of one of the many dragons that danced on the streets. Leicester Square hosted fireworks displays throughout the day. Unfortunately, I was unable to catch a performance due to my work schedule. In Trafalgar Square, a stage was setup to show Chinese cultural performance all day long hosted by Auntie Alice. It was sort of neat to see her on stage.
