Tangier, Morocco - July 2005

It's really not a nice town and I don't think I've ever been hounded so badly. Everyone wants to sell you something which includes drugs. You can't even stand on the street without countless people coming up to you trying to sell you hash. But when bargaining, stand your ground and you'll be all right. And no one is your friend. Don't trust taxi drivers for train schedules. If they say they are just trying to help, it's non-sense. They just want your money. Everyone is super friendly though (because they all want your money). This basically goes for all Moroccan cities.

Tangier is not good place to visit but it's only one of two places you can get a ferry from Algeciras, Spain. Tangier is the only one with a rail link.

Watch out for broken glass on the beach and be aware of local customs. Women must be covered up so no bikinies.
