Palmyra, Syria - November 2005

Palmyra is a town in the middle of the desert which use to be home to a great oasis but it has dried up quite a bit since the building of a hotel right on top of it. There are also more Roman ruins here not suprisingly.

Comments:
We first heard of the hotel bombings in Amman, Jordan here as we were only days away from Amman. It was fairly concerning but I wasn't too worried. Besides, we don't stay in big hotels.
